Nonna Lumina, operated by Nonna Group, has brought communal service housing to a convenient location in the heart of Oulu, where shopping center Valkea and the area’s parks are within walking distance. In addition to the benefits of communal living, the residents have convenient access to the services of the city center and a comfortable environment.
Nonna Lumina’s manager Pauliina Pitkänen states that Nonna Lumina is a top destination, which has been successfully developed with good partners.
– Location is absolutely key for Nonna Lumina. It is important to us that the elderly can live close to services, but also in a park-like environment, says Pitkänen.

Nonna Lumina has 85 apartments, of which 25 are for couples. The facilities are carefully designed for their users. In addition to the residents’ own peaceful apartments, the building has three large and comfortable community living rooms where you can spend time in many different ways.
The residents have been taken into account to the last detail, thanks Pauliina Pitkänen, director of Nonna Lumina. The whole building is sensory- and memory-friendly as well as barrier-free and safe.
– Users have been taken into account both in style, ergonomics and materials. The chairs are senior chairs and the lighting has been thought out so that the rooms have mood lighting, but also brighter light when necessary. Each floor has its own colors to stimulate memory.
Nonna Lumina’s services are arranged as services according to each customer’s own needs, separate from housing. In each Nonna house, the residents are served by familiar staff: the house’s own nurse, home nurses and care assistants. Nonna offers additional services in other support services for living at home, such as cleaning and meal services, through its partners, supporting local entrepreneurs and communities.
Community spirit is a big part of Nonna Lumina’s everyday life. Every day, fun things to do together are organized for the residents, and that is also the service promise of Nonna houses.

Nonna Lumina’s service property is implemented according to the Hoivatilat Facilities as a service model: the investment-free rental model offers the service operator an alternative to own investment, and Hoivatilat is the long-term owner of the property.
