Hoivatilat to develop a care home for elderly people in Hämeenlinna for Ikifit
Hoivatilat and Ikifit Oy have signed a lease agreement for a care home for elderly people to be developed in Hämeenlinna. The project has a legally valid building permit, and construction work has started on the site. The property is scheduled for completion in summer 2027.
The elderly care home, located in the Asemanranta area of Hämeenlinna, will have a total of 59 resident places. BST-Arkkitehdit Oy is responsible for the main architectural design, and YIT Rakennus Oy is the contractor. The investment is approximately EUR 9 million.
– The project places a strong emphasis on energy-efficient solutions. Geothermal heating and solar panels will support sustainable and cost-efficient operation. The premises have been designed in close cooperation with Ikifit to ensure that they serve the users as effectively as possible in their everyday lives. Cooperation with BST-arkkitehdit, YIT and the City of Hämeenlinna has proceeded well during the project development phase, says Mikko Yrtti, Project Development Manager at Hoivatilat.
– It is important for Ikifit to be involved in developing a modern new care home in Hämeenlinna. Ikifit operates as a framework agreement service provider in the OmaHäme wellbeing services county, and the new elderly care home will strengthen our ability to provide high-quality, safe and homelike living solutions for elderly people. The property will comprise four group-home units in total. Three of them will provide communal living in line with OmaHäme’s strategy, while one will serve residents requiring enhanced 24/7 care. Our goal is to create a pleasant everyday environment for residents, combining individual care, a sense of community and an environment that supports active wellbeing, says Leena Laranne, CEO, Ikifit.
